ＪＡＰＡＮ　ＥＸＰＯ　２００４,  Los Angeles Convention Center

２００４年にロスアンジェルス大見本市会場で開かれた日本博に参加、出品し、京漆器の美を多くのアメリカの方々に紹介する機会を得られました。　

  Our exhibits at Japan Expo in the Los Angeles Convention Center in 2004 were a big success.   We are very grateful for the opportunity to introduce our original arts and crafts as well as experimental works to the public in Los Angeles.

    私たちは 『京都の誇る工芸の美を海外へ発信』 というグループを構成してロスアンジェルスに於いて開催されたジャパンエキスポに参加、出展致しました。京都の伝統工芸品を外国人に直接紹介すると共に、これからの漆器創作のヒントを得るためには大変有意義なイベント参加となりました。  会場のほとんどの入場客に取っては、本物の京漆器、京蒔絵に触れるのは初めて。 数多くのアメリカ人に感動を与える事が出来た事は大きな成果となりました。

     We formed a group under the name "Introducing Kyoto's Traditional Arts and Crafts to Overseas" under the sponsorship of the City of Kyoto and exhibited our products at the Japan Expo in Los Angeles.  This group was organized as a part of our efforts to introduce Kyoto's traditional craftsmanship and new forms of lacquerware  to the the Americans.

     Our exhibit was a big success and the visitors' responses, especially from those who have never seen genuine lacquerware ware overwhelming.   Our Makie (see Home Page) artist's demonstration inspired thousands of visitors.
